School Policies

Students at Lincoln High School are expected to abide by a strict code of conduct as contained in the School Policy and the Bonneville School District Student Code of Conduct. The rules apply to all classroom and school activities. Disregard of any of the rules or procedures will result in a disciplinary referral to the administration. Violation of any policy may result in dismissal from Lincoln High School for either a specific period of time or for the remainder of the school year.

Lincoln High School Policies

The following policies apply to all classroom and school activities on or off campus.
Disregard of any of the policies outlined in the Student Code of Conduct or of the policies listed below will result in a disciplinary referral to the administration.
Violation of any policy may result in suspension from Lincoln High School. The length of the suspension is dependent on the nature and severity of the violation as outlined in the Bonneville Joint School District 93 Student Code of Conduct and Lincoln High School Policies.
Students attending Lincoln High School agree to adhere to the Bonneville Joint School District #93 Student Code of Conduct.

Referrals

Referrals may be given for any violation of LHS policies or the Bonneville Joint School District #93 Student Code of Conduct.
Students may be suspended from school upon receiving any referral dependent upon the nature of the disciplinary referral.
Students will be suspended from school upon receiving a 3^rd disciplinary referral in a Track.
All class school work missed due to a suspension from school will need to be made up.
LHS is a closed campus with the exception of the lunch break. Students may be suspended for leaving during the school day without parent permission and checking out in the main office.

Cell Phones

Texting during class is not allowed.
Cell phone use is not allowed in the classroom without teacher permission.
Teachers may require students to turn their cell phones in at the beginning of the class period. Cell phones will be returned at the end of class that day.
LHS will follow the student Owned Electronic Communication Devises Policy as set by the Bonneville School District 93 School Board.

Grades

Students must keep their grade at a C- (70%) or above to earn credit for the class.
Students with a failing grade will receive a grade warning from the teacher and the parent/guardian will be contacted by the teacher.

Lincoln High School is focused on preparing students to be career ready upon graduation. Students are to wear clothing that meets career readiness standards. Clothing worn to school should meet those standards or the student will be asked to have appropriate clothing brought to school or be asked to return home to change into appropriate clothing. Tops must be at least 3 inches wide on the shoulder. Skirts, dresses, shorts, etc. may not be more than 5 inches above the front and back of the knee.

Attendance Policy

Absences

Absences should be avoided as student success is directly related to attendance. A student is absent if they are over 60 minutes late.

If a student is going to be absent, the school must be notified by 8:00 a.m. on the day of the absence. A parent or guardian must call the school to verify the absence.
Students must be in attendance and on time on the first day and the last day of the Track unless prior arrangements have been made with the administration.
Student attendance is critical to their success at school.
Students may not have more than 20% absenteeism (6 absences) in a track. Upon the 7^th absence, the student will be removed from the courses they are enrolled in and will have the opportunity to enroll in IDLA credit recovery courses at home in order to make up the credit.
When a student reaches 10% absenteeism (3 absences), the principal or counselor will conference with the student and parent regarding the student’s attendance.

Tardies

Students who are tardy are a disruption to the educational process.

Before going to class, students need to go to the office and pick up a tardy slip.
Students late to the start of the class period, or checking out early from class will be marked tardy if the time is less than 60 minutes.
After 3 tardies the principal or counselor will conference with the student and parent.
Excessive tardies (6 or more) will result in suspension from school for disrupting the educational process.
Continued tardies will result in the student being removed from the class they are enrolled and the student will have the opportunity to be enrolled in an IDLA credit recovery course at home.

Visitors

Visitors must check in with the office upon arrival on school grounds and receive a visitor’s pass.
Visitors who do not check in through the office may be cited for trespassing.
A student who is not currently enrolled in Lincoln High School may not be on school grounds at any time.

Graduation Requirements

Students are required to meet the Idaho State Board of Education minimum graduation requirements in each content area to earn a high school diploma. The current state requirements for graduation are 46 credits, a senior project, and taking required state tests.

Registration

Each year students may donate to the student activities fund, suggested $20.00, to help pay for transportation costs, field trip entrance, and track rewards.
Parking permits are $5 and are required to be displayed in every student vehicle parked in the school parking lot.

The last school at which the student is enrolled full time and earns a credit is the school from which he/she is to graduate and receive his/her diploma.

Parking Lot Rules

For the safety of all who attend Lincoln High School, we ask you to follow these parking lot rules:

Students who drive their cars to school must purchase a parking pass for $5.00.
Any student vehicle must have a Lincoln High School parking permit visibly displayed in the front window. Tickets will be given to all cars without a visible parking pass.
Drive slowly while in the parking lot. The speed limit is 5 mph.
When entering and leaving the parking lot, drive in the direction indicated by the one-way sign.
When leaving the parking lot to go onto Lincoln Road, please use caution with buses and other vehicles. Buses have the right of way.
When being dropped off or picked up from school use the designated areas in front of the school by the marquee and Lincoln Road.
Students must park in designated areas. Students are not to park in the following areas:
- In any parking space marked “faculty parking”
- In front of the middle building
- On the street
Pickups, SUVs, and large vehicles are to be parked along the back of the parking lot against the grass.
Students will be given a referral for a violation and may also be given a ticket and fined. A student may also lose driving privileges.
